Microchipping

Microchipping is the practice of placing a uniquely numbered microchip under the skin of a family pet. Cascade Veterinary Hospital participates in a nation-wide microchipping program and encourages all owners to have their pets chipped. A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and is inserted painlessly under your pet's skin through a special needle. The chip bears a number that can be accessed by the service provider to reveal your pet's name, your name, your address and phone number as well as the veterinary clinic that placed the chip. Owners can rest easy knowing their pet can be identified if lost. Collars and ID tags are easily removed; however, a microchip remains in place. Many reunions can be attributed to the placement of microchips. Visit Cascade Veterinary Hospital for more information on the cost and process of microchipping your beloved family pet.
